Biography

Andy Hong is Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Hong’s research focuses on health and environmental impacts of urban mobility. Dr. Hong is Co-Investigator on an interdisciplinary study, funded by the City of Vancouver, to synthesize evidence and methodologies on health impacts of transit investment. He was also Co-PI on a joint international research, funded by the Korean Research Institute for Human Settlements, to evaluate the health impacts of rail transit in Seoul and Los Angeles. Dr. Hong holds a Ph.D. in urban planning and development from the USC Price School of Public Policy and a dual Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Public Administration from the University of Washington. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics and Geography. Dr. Hong previously worked as a researcher at Korea Transport Institute and a transportation planner at Nelson/Nygaard Consulting Associates on various projects related to public transportation and bicycle planning.
